Repatriation

Remains of U.S. Servicemen were repatriated Tuesday, July 10, 2001.  Many people gathered to watch eight Korean War and nine Vietnam War dead return to Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.  

 

The remains were marched from the C-17, that brought the remains, past a joint services color guard and then they were placed onto a bus.  The buses then transferred the remains to CILHI for identification.  

 

The remains of a crew from a crashed aircraft in Laos were among those returned.

Korean and Vietnam War Veterans gather to pay tribute to the servicemen 

who have finally come home and to those still missing.
