"Richard was a kind and gentle man who loved the Air Force, loved flying, and loved to build model aircraft.  I can remember how he enjoyed 'crew parties' and the camaraderie with his fellow crew members and their families.  One of my fondest memories is exploring the myriad of caves with Richard in Naha, Okinawa 68-69.  He is greatly missed and always in my heart, and will NEVER be forgotten."
